Ken,

Couldn't you also argue that these sub $1000 PCs could also serve as a way for a retailer to add margin by adding a zip. Spend a few bucks on an ATAPI Zip and have the retailer install - you still come in under $1000 bucks, and the retailer makes some quick pocket change considering the ease of install.

Obviously this is an aftermarket scenario, but when you state:

"Plus, adding this device is an 'extra step', one that will be 'forgotten' by 90%+ of the buyers of these cheap PCs."

you get back to the issue of awareness creation. If/when Iomega starts building awareness for Zip in the holiday season, you could see a lot of these "extra steps" which are really just a baby step when installing an ATAPI Zip.
