welcome back, MSI Thanks I've launched a major project so won't be online as much as I'd like. SI is a source of good people and information links, but also a time-sink <G> whoever has a key to the trap door in the machines can put in whatever outcome they want. It's not hard creating auditable recountable system, w/o compromising privacy. Punch cards work pretty well, if they're cleaned out. Better is the electronic scan/printer which checks you optically-scanned paper, prints out a marked ballot you look at to validate then put into a box. The paper ballot is there for verification if need be. "It's not who gets the votes it's who counts the votes"
