Re: "Comment (1) - What IS YOUR explanation for AMD going DOWN and NOT UP ?"

Response:

As stated earlier, the general market erroneously assumes Intel's price cuts today, which have been a successful tactic in the past, will again be successful in stemming the erosion of top-end market share. The general market does not understand that unlike one year ago AMD now owns the top-end and it is the top-end which now feeds AMD's bottom line. AMD would be most pleased if they could ship 6 million Athys per quarter and 0 non-Athys. It is a matter of a very short time before the general market will catch wind of the error of its ways. (Possibly another pre-announcement by AMD concerning positive Q1 earnings)

AMD has been cast in Intel's shadow for years. The general market has been dubbed by Intel's recent continuing stream of false promises, most notably the PWeeIII 733's and above. The general market has not yet realized that a role reversal has taken place in the last 6 months at the top-end with AMD delivering on its promises while Intel's production flounders. The general market can't avoid the conclusion that AMD's fundamentals are outstanding much longer and it is that general market perception change that will fuel a much higher AMD share price. (As you know, I thought Q4 earnings would have been sufficient, but it seems there remain quite a few PAUL perspectives, as wrong as they are, that need to be overcome...and they will in the near term!)
