There has to be a better way to calculate the mean deviation in Equis-speak -- it is essentially the same problem as calculating the std dev equis.com

That is, sum not the abs dev of a point from its trailing MA

but instead the abs devs of the points from their mean

Is there no way to in essence freeze the bolded MA in your formula?
