To All from Individual Investor YEAR-END WRAP-UP (Posted 12/2) MRV Communications' shares were up as much as 400% last summer, in reaction to a newsletter recommendation and general excitement regarding the LAN-components sector. But its multiple of 84 times expected earnings was too high to sustain. MRV deserves high valuations, however, and there is always the chance that it could be bought out. This stock will likely continue its ascent, but be warned--it is subject to big price swings. (posted 12/2 with MRVC trading at $24.00)
