RE: <So Sander's cannot be optimistic about his company?>

Mani,

In a sense I agree with you. Sanders has every right to be optimistic, and in my opinion even proud, AMD has accomplished a lot recently. But I have two problems with him talking.

#1) He is often confrontational, When questioned he often strikes like a cornered snake, he has done this at least once in every conference call that I can remember. This abrasiveness does little to win AMD any friends or respect.

#2) Because of his past abrasiveness and AMD's track record any comments that he makes are apt to be largely discounted anyway and will have the undesirable effect of pissing off Intel. Why slap your competitor in the face when no one is going to believe you anyway.

I may be wrong and Sander's comments may be great for the stock but I would be much more comfortable if AMD and Sanders continued to maintain their confident silence. JMHO.

Thanks,

Epinephrine
