First, the Saudis don't receive military aid from the US?

Bullhookey they don't. While congress voted to cut off aid after September 11th- what do you call all these arms deals It's not like they can buy direct from the factory. Why didn't we ever invade Saudi Arabia to free the Saudi people from the Royal Family? And I won't even go to the number of Saudi terrorists from 911, or the Wahhabi support from the Royal Family.

One of the reasons Bush 40 went after Saddam in the first Gulf War was because the Saudi's were afraid Saddam wouldn't stop in Kuwait and they'd be next. And who had more to fear about Saddams WMD's- America, or the Saudi's? Part of the reason we went into Baghdad this time- was the Saudi's fear of Saddam acquiring WMD's and using them on- not America, but on Saudi soil. We spent a fortune on building and maintaining Saudi bases to protect them from Saddam from the first Gulf War. Yes, we've drawn down forces since, but the Saudi Royals owe their ongoing dictatorship to the support of the US- period. Saddam would have had all their heads on poles-if not for the USA.

It amazes me that we spend billions upon billions defending other countries, as they spit on us whenever we need them- as we go broke with deficit spending- crashing our currency and economy while playing the worlds policeman.

Look at how much we give to Israel- it was upped in 2007 to $30 billion over 10 years.
