Not a builder but looking at an ADU addition in 2022 and wanted either (1) solar w/ the Tesla battery packs or (2) the REDOX NG fuel cell. The Redox product is new 2nd generation and presently not in production. This technology is more efficient and 10x cheaper than the current BloomBox. I really think these next generation fuel cells will change the way we currently look at the grid.

It is perfect timing w/ the large NG production in the US too. The NG fuel cell is/was the missing piece for a Decentralized Electrical Grid System.

The only NG residential fuel cell now in production and being installed by People's Energy is the Watt Residential NG Fuel cell. The parent company is WEC.

If they do get the Redox in production, based of the footprint (vs) solar, it works better for my project. The total cost of the hardware vs solar is about the same or even cheaper @ $800/KW. The operating cost will be more as you have to buy the NG fuel but can sell back the extra power the unit generates to the grid utility.

Think of the how this technology will help 3rd world countries leapfrog into generating decentralized clean electricity. You still need the NG delivery infrastructure which could be done by propane truck/rail deliveries to smaller towns/villages. I am thinking about India and how they could build out such a decentralized grid.

It is similar to how/what the cell phone industry leapfroged the telecommunication sector w/ wireless 3G/4G and now 5G services.

If/when Redox goes public, could be a good speculative investment. I suspect there even could be other developers using 'Go-Fund' me to design and manufacture similar units. For now I am watching the Watt JV w/ People's Energy (in Pittsburgh) to see how they scale their business.
