This is the first time I've posted, so I hope it works.

My husband works for Johnson Controls, and their big boss just sent out a memo stating that on March 12 "...Compaq Computers will assume management of our desktop and laptop computing equipment and service in the US and Canada. Over time all our current PC equipment will be replaced by Compaq-provided and owned equipment. If the partnership works as planned, we intend to expand the agreement to other regions around the world."

Under the agreement, Compaq will "refresh" the PC equipment every 36 months and "provide help desk support 7x24x365, and enhance security, software licensing and asset management". Some JCI support employees will now be CPQ employees under this agreement.

The transition is to begin on April 1.

By the way, I've new to investing (just since NOV) and have been in CPQ since starting. I'd like to see the merger go through, but am comfortable holding long term.
