My wife did her college internship at a YWCA women's shelter. The women and children there were all victims of domestic violence.

My wife led daily support groups, and she assisted the people there with transitioning their lives. One person she worked with named her daughter Chlamydia because she liked the way it sounded. I suspect the kid eventually changed that.

Anyway, one time, the husband of one of the women staying at the shelter came to the place and tried to break in and snatch the wife and kids back. My wife stood in the door and held that crazy guy off until reinforcements came to her aid and the dude was hauled off.

When the time came, my wife summoned superhuman strength to protect those who were in peril. Somehow, she had this other gear she could shift into to go full-on mama-bear. That's something she's always had in her back pocket and still has to this day.
