Dale, Nomai compares itself against the ZIP drive... it should
be comparing itself to the Jaz drive ...

>>The Nomai 540MB Drive and cartridge operates on hard-disk technology
allowing for greater storage space, durability and speed versus the
floppy-diskette platform that Zip uses. Additional benefits over Zip
include:

-- 3 times faster data access times
-- 3 times faster data transfer rate
-- 5 times storage capacity
-- Almost half the cost of Zip media per MB
-- Zip = $19.95 @ 100MB/20 cents per media MB
-- Nomai = $59 @ 540MB/11 cents per media MB
<<

-------------------------------------------------------
Now here's my comparison of a Jaz to a Zip (and Nomai)

-- 3x faster data access times than Zip (about equal to Nomai)
-- 4x faster data xfer rate than Zip (so faster than Nomai)
-- 10 times Zip storage capacity (about twice that of Nomai)
-- Nomai = $59 @ 540MB
-- Jaz = $99 @ 1GB (so slightly cheaper per MB)
-- Jaz Internal ($399) upfront costs slightly worse than Nomai.

Conclusion: Jaz slightly faster, more data storage, cheaper on a per
MB basis, and just barely more expensive up front. I did the math. :)

ps. The competition is getting hotter. Wonder what IO has up it's
sleeve for Comdex?
