From late in 1996 - Intel Corporation has agreed to acquire 200,000

newly issued MRV shares, at a price of $20 per share. Intel has

warrants to acquire 500,000 additional MRV shares at the same price.

Intel has been making and selling Network Interface cards (NICs) for many years as well.

Also, they recently purchased a chunk of XIRCOM - big on mobile LAN cards.

Also, from Jan. 16, 1997 :

Intel Corp said Thursday it had agreed to acquire Case Technology from Anite Group Plc for $72 million.

Case Tech, based in Copenhagen, is a networking company that specializes in Fast Ethernet networking technology.

Case Tech will become part of Intel's Network Products Division.
