Clinton presided during times of economic prosperity, and ended his years in office with a huge surplus.

Everyone in America pays for the huge cost of public health in an uninsured and underinsured population that does not get regular medical care. At least if we had a national health plan (like very other civilized country on earth), we would be paying our taxes for medical care instead of reeling under the most expensive medical system in the world, with much of the money going to drug companies who produce dangerous products, and the advertising and lobbying industries which don't even exist under nationalized health care. I think it would be a bargain!
