Antisemitism and the Gospel of John For several years Jewish religious leaders have been pushing to have the Gospel of John declared antisemitic. Cardinal Barnardin of Chicago was persuaded by Jewish Rabbis to make a public statement declaring that the Gospel of John was antisemitic. Barnardin's remarks went unchallenged by the leaders of the Christian community. If the "Synagogue of Satan" Rev. 2;9, 3:9 has its way, we can expect the Gospel of John to become increasingly identified with antisemitism and hatred. We can also expect certain "well meaning" christians to start challenging St. John's unflattering quotes of Jesus refering to the antichrist Jews "as children of their father the devil" as antisemtic. Anyone who dares quote St. John's words today will be castigated as hateful antisemites. First, it was Luther an other Christian leaders. Next, it will be the St. John and then finally Jewish Jesus who is the ultimate antisemite. Jewish Rabbinical leaders already claim that its Jesus and His Words that have led to what their dark and twisted minds call "antisemitism". Some Jewish leaders even claim that Jesus was the ultimate cause of Nazism in Germany. It not diffuclt to see where all this is leading.
