<<but the damn Panama won't stay on when you are on a moped. One advantage of Kaiser for me is that the Dermatologist burns off my head spots every six months.>>

You could always add a chin strap to a Panama or try a bait and tackle store for some headgear you like better.

I'm light skinned and grew up when everyone thought a tan was a sign of health. During the summers I'd work in the basement of my dad's store and caddy on Sunday. Take your shirt off, you're too pale. Never a base tan so I'd burn. He also got me mowing jobs and I'd burn through a white tee shirt. I've been sun burned to the point of blister, peel, burn and so little skin left I'd ooze blood. My Dermatologist said I was his retirement fund. It seems the burns we get before turning 25 cause the cancers, after 25 they cause ageing.

Last summer I had a cancer next to my eye that took 4 hours of cut, burn and lab to get rid of. Really liked the doc, he gave me three 20 minute breaks to get up and walk around while the lab work was being done. The staff took pictures of every step and the showed me pictures so I could pick how I wanted the scar to look. I skipped the sedative because I had a 65 mile drive home. He called when he found I had driven home because driving after the surgery was verboten, but I HAD to get home.

I had a good friend who grew up on a farm and had a skin cancer when he was 45. It was cut out but returned when he was 52. Went to the Fermi lab, had it zapped and they told him to come back in 10 years just in case. He died 30 days later. That's a bummer, docs say 10 years and he had 30 days.
