Afghanistan is a mess, and Iraq may end up much more dangerous for the US than it ever was under Saddam. WE've spent billions, and as far as I can see the results are not impressive, and the future does not look bright (for the US it does not look bright- if we wanted an Islamic theocracy I'd say the prospects were somewhat brighter).
Your "facts" are spin spin spin. "Liberation" was really "invasion". "Bush bashers"- people who have a problem with the Bush ideology.
The fall of the Berlin wall was not, imo, all that great for the US. It was better, imo, to have one monolithic enemy, that also kept a lid on things in the Balkans and the ME, then to have to whole thing wide open and destabilized, as it is now. Why? Because then we had detente, and occasionally a localized proxy war. Now we have power vacuums everywhere. We live in a much more dangerous world- and we can thank Reagan and Bush for it. Granted, the USSR would have collapsed anyway, eventually, but it was silly to hasten its demise in any way, or to hope for its fall (If you put the interests of the US first). |
