I think Steve Harmon ran out of ideas and put this together at the last minute. It really makes no intuitive sense whatsoever, even disregarding the ludicrous valuation assigned to AOL.

Once again we have a journalist playing the role of securities analyst/technology guru. He just doesn't seem to get it.
