Teddy didn't have much choice. He was risking being primaried as it was. So Trump offered a minor way to save face, he inserted a Cruz supporter on his long list of USSC potential nominees. One with zero chances of actually being a nominee, but it allowed Cruz to use that as a reason to endorse. Personally, I think Ted gambled big on the presidency for later election cycles. And he lost, big. We might not have Teddy to kick around for very long. His wife went back to Goldman-Sachs, so there won't be a hit to their lifestyle. No doubt he will be some sort of elder statesman for the Christian Theocracy movement...
