Tom: IMO, the essence of the argument is: "Who in holy hades is Judy Woodruff to imply that China should do anything?!" Europeans were visiting China to learn about civilization, gunpowder, paper, pasta, etc. , while America was still predominantly inhabited by buffalo and some Asians who got stuck here when the polar ice cap receded. I cannot remember the last time a foreign dignitary came to the U.S. & publicy said "You change this. You should change that. Your society is a mess. Blah Blah Blah." I'd love to see Ms. Woodruff take a cross town trip in Beijing, then try the same thing on a New York subway. THEN let her say which country has problems. Doug
