--Len denies being Jewish in the sense of his claim to being an agnostic, and thus of no religion. He has not denied being of Jewish descent. --
so we get back to that, 'is judaism a race or a religion?' question.
for me, "jew" means "one with GOD." i think that any individual - no matter what race or creed - can strive to be a "jew."
in islam there is a thing about never really knowing where one stands with allah.
also, in islam hell is not eternal; it is a place which can be worked out of.
getting back to the definition of "jew;" any person can have a sense of being "one with GOD," but perhaps for at least some of those it is not real; this is why i brought the first of thsoe islamic concepts up.
but yes to me "jew" means "at one with GOD." i try not to judge anyone 'good' or 'bad,' but from what i've read of george harrison, he was in tune with something to say the least; i'm saying that george was a 'good' dude..
one thing which amazes me is the simple optimism of many people i meet.
to me the world is always going to hell in a handbasket but some of these people are talking about buying houses and having families!! now there's faith in action!!
one thing "real" 'jews, christians, moslems, buddhists, whatever' have in common is that they all pray and meditate a lot. people with strong experience in all of the faiths will speak of the importance of prayer and meditation in their daily lives.
