There is a chance that Andersen is experiencing a Firestone moment here. Sunbeam was bad, but it was just a little toaster company running an inventory scam. I read today that Enron was once (recently) No. 7 (!) on the Fortune 500 list. Now they are worth absolutely nothing. This one is different than the others, and Andersen will have a lot of trouble pinning it on a local office. Watch for signs that Andersen's key people are starting to defect to the other big accounting firms.
