kalakoa: Sorry, I don't know of any books on shorting to recommend. But I'm sure they're are a few and I'm sure someone will post a title or two for you. One thing you can do to "get your feet wet" on the short side; short 25 shares (or whatever small number that you're comfortable with) of QQQ...you're basically shorting the NASDAQ. You don't need an up-tick. You won't get wealthy, you won't get clobbered. Use stops. It's like many things we're perhaps "afraid" to do. But with a little bit of experience, a bit of learning... soon you get kinda comfortable. And in time, shorting becomes just another arrow in your quiver. Good fortune. (Lee)
