No, demand depends on prices. Prices are set in a way that the maximum amount of revenues is realized from the given supply. If there is an additional buyer who can't buy your product not because of the price but because it's sold out, you have set your prices too low.

Queuing is one of the least efficient ways to keep the supply/demand in check. It has been practiced widely in communist countries.

One of the examples of queuing was the famous sign on Dell website informing buyers of the 30 day queue. Dell should just have introduce the product at high price, and as the supply became more plentiful, Dell should have cut prices.

I tell you what. Why don't you go ahead and have your contest and declare yourselves to be the winners. You're going to do that anyway. Why do you need my approval?

You don't seem to have a lot of confidence in Intel's ability to produce these 1 GHz chips. As I said, I personally don't expect to see the winner of this mini-contest before the middle of May. By then, this flood of CuMines (you have been talking about) should certainly make it to the market.
