That's a good assessment.

However, I'm pretty convinced that low power/long battery life is NOT a first order item in most customer's purchase decisions.

AMD's Kmart 6 shooters always suck down more power than Intel CPUs for a given frequency - yet people still by the Kmart chips/notebooks.

Price may be a swing factor, but Power dissipation most likely isn't.

Witness all the unsold Win CE machines still sitting on store shelves - they all have very low power consumption.
