Interesting that Nomai is comparing their 540 Mb drive to Zip instead of Jaz. My impression is that in the Zip market price is paramount. I don't think the masses will go for a drive that costs twice as much, even if the media cost per Mb is lower. I think 540 Mb per cartridge is too big for this market right now. I don't see folks swapping $60 disks. I'm convinced that Zip is the right product for the mass market and if someone wants to compete they're going to have to hit the same price range. Also notice that for comparing price per Mb Nomai is using 20 bucks for a Zip disk. I wonder if Nomai's 540 Mb disks are available for less than $59.
