This is not something I've ever looked at since I have no personal need. But I do know that there is a tremendous difference in cost from state to state and a bunch of it must be different required coverages. Some of the difference would be different pay scales and real estate costs in different regions but that sure wouldn't account for the tremendous differences.

So you would support federal regulation of insurance plans? Not trying to be a 'wise ass'; just trying to figure how you make interstate insurance sales work. I don't think anyone (maybe speaking too soon) supports totally unregulated insurance markets. Insurance has typically been one of the most regulated markets. It's legalized gambling... CDS are an example of insurance gone wild.
