Poland has been invaded more times than any other country.

I dont suppose it would have helped the Poles to negotiate with Hitler?. No, I guess not.
Be kind of like trying to negotiate with OBL or Saddam, you just cant trust those types.

The British learned their lesson well from the Vikings and the Romans, from the wars with France,Spain and Germany.

Have probably developed a sixth sence of exterior threats and were therefore more able to see the threat posed by Saddam and join the coalition.
