>> ...neither did they look great when IOM was trading at $3 (pre-all of the splits). All Iomega had was this drive they named Zip. Nobody but a few fools were sure about its future success. <<

When IOM was at $3, the Zip drive was anticipated by tech-heads like no other peripheral in history. Zip was backorderd and sold-out for about a year after its release. It was not hard to figure out that Zip was going to be a success right off the bat, therefore the price run-up to $28.

But this is now today 1999, not 1995. There is no such highly anticipated product by Iomega. Flop! is readily available but is not flying off the shelves. In fact, it's quite the opposite. Flop! is dying a quiet little death on dusty store shelves right before our eyes. There is no backorder for either Flop! drives or disks. There is no wide-eyed anticipation by digital camera buffs for an internal Flop! (Just check out the LACK of any build-up or barely any mention of Flop! in the newsgroup <rec.photo.digital> to see what I mean) There is no great hunger for Flop! by Palm Pilot or Windoze CE users.

Quite simply, there is no reason to be excited about owning IOM stock. The market has moved on. The laggards are still here.

No offense, but it's true.
