Jeffrey, I agree with your assessment that those who stick with AOL are going to be wonderful prospects for x2 sales. Most of them are at 14,400!!! In fact, AOL is already running ads for 56k USRX modems in their Computer Marketplace.

I expect AOL will run at least a few of the full screen ads that you have to click past at sign-on, once x2 is enabled.

Question: implementing x2 won't necessarily increase AOL capacity, will it? I had the impression that after upgrade, the same number of simultaneous connections would still be possible, but callers would just be able to connect at speeds from 300 bps up to 56 kpbs...

Anyway, I am along for the long ride on USRX, got my Robot modem ready for upgrade, but need a green light from AOL. A guy I spoke with in AOL Tech support said he heard "mid February". "The phone lines are in place. We are just waiting for the go ahead from US Robotics"
