Lacking Supply, Cheniere Hoists White Flag Oil Daily (Tuesday, February 26, 2008) Cheniere Energy put itself up for sale Monday after wrestling with a dilemma that has become endemic for independent US Gulf Coast LNG operators -- too much regasification capacity and not enough LNG supply. Cheniere said it would evaluate strategic options to enhance shareholder value, including options to optimize the value of its main asset, the Sabine Pass LNG receiving terminal. ************************************************************** Now I understand why Exxon canceled plans for at least 1 LNG terminal in the US Gulf Coast over the past several years. Build it and [the LNG] will come, right? Maybe somebody can use it to thaw out frozen meat or something? (yuk yuk)
