Thanks for the info. It seems that it is decidedly against all 3 parties' best interests for the stocks to go down in the near term.
For FRO, it puts the deal in jeopardy, which would result in a quick 50% drop in value.

For Global, the FRO deal provides them with more meaningful assets (IMO) than USW. If they lose FRO, then they lose a highly valued piece of their story (data networking services).

For USW, I'll bet they need this to go through or otherwise they are buzzard bait. They'll merge with someone eventually, but current management will probably never find a sweeter deal.

So, the conclusion has to be that the share price either goes up somehow, or the USW deal will be scuttled (which would cause the price to go up also.). Unless anyone can think of why Global might want to ditch FRO?
