SIDEBAR: 3Com And x2 Serve Up A Winner

When you start implementing remote access servers in a corporate
environment, you need high port counts and fault tolerance, as well as

the group and met or exceeded all of our other criteria. We found 3Com's x2
technology quite adept at handling our test files and line noise. And with one

compatibility with millions of U.S. Robotics modems is guaranteed.

An honorable mention goes to Multi-Tech's CommPlete Communications
Server. CommPlete shows what it takes to make it in the corporate world
with great fault tolerance and expandability. If CommPlete's performance was
closer to the other servers, it may have moved into the top spot. We'll have to
see how the product fares once it's released in its final version.
