I think I explained the benefits of the ignore function to Grainne, so I thought I could comment. I really recommend using it- since I think a lot of mischief can be done by PM, especially when you also consider the male/female dynamic at play on SI.

I'm not sure what you mean. I have never found that any mischief was done by PM. The delete feature is quite useful.

My one, singularly unpleasant experience on SI involved public, not private, messages and a stalking (of me) in my 3D life. That incident prompted an alias change.

By the way, it was a female who was behind the stalking

I think men are much more likely to harass women on SI, and that we women need to be really careful here. What do you think about that?

I know plenty of females on SI who would likely disagree with your assessment.
