Stan, VIAS is probably the safer short ... just look at the non-reaction to this article ... I think it confirms my doubts about the prospects of this company ... What a lot of folks don't realize is that with mainframe software, you pay for the license per CPU/or per operating system ... then it doesn't matter how you use it ... so in this case KPMG might have 100 clients that it will run through VIASOFT's product but VIASOFT wouldn't get 100X the license fees .. they'll get the initial payment plus monthly maintenance ... Sure, VIASOFT would rather that Fortune 100 companies use their products by themselves but these companies find it more cost efficient to go with a consulting company who has already licensed the product ... WHAT DOES THIS MEAN TO ZITEL'S PROSPECTS : 1. If the Matridigm product is successful, chances are, it will be licensed to consulting companies in much the same fashion as VIASOFT's product ... 2. By the time Zitel's product is commercially available, there might be few dance partner's left ...
