Looks like some lithium ion manufacturers use cobalt. This was an article on metals trading.

...Asked about a fire at a lithium-ion battery plant in Osaka on Sunday, one trader said although it might create additional demand for cobalt of about four tonnes, he was worried that the incident might harm the image of these type of batteries.

The Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun newspaper said on Tuesday the fire, caused by an explosion, destroyed about 400,000 lithium-ion batteries.
