Phil, this is the part that I don't quite follow:
>> (1) The same as previous post, with the same assumptions:
(i) 25% of revenue was derived from Europe;
(ii) the total amount sold before January is about 50% of
the sales after January
Hence, we have:
133,000x0.5x0.25 ~= 16,000
100,000 - 16,000 = 84,000
84,000/0.25 = 336,000"
<<<

Okay, I see that you are trying to determine the G3 unit shipment in Europe for Q1 and subtract that from the 100,000 G3 figure we got from the interview to determine the Q3 G3 unit shipment in Europe. Then multiply that by 4 to estimate total G3 for this Q. But I think you made a mistake in the your initial calculation for estimating G3 in Europe in Q1.

With the given assumption, G3 unit shipment in Europe for Q1 = 133,000 X 1/4 not 133,000 X 1/4 X 1/2.

I know you're trying to account for sales prior to Jan (Q1 by definition) but since the 133,000 number is ALREADY for Q1 and thus before Jan (before midnight Dec 26 to be exact) you shouldn't multiply it again by 1/2....No? Total G3 in Q1 is 133,000 so if Europe is 1/4 of that it's simply 133,000 x 1/4 = 33,250

Eric
