Yogi,
In the beginning of the mountainous terrain, where we live in the Blue Ridge. Weather is mild. No floods, 5" of snow, electricity, flush toilets working at peak reliability. Most painless y2K disaster, I could ever have imagined.
Had the power been out, I do know that my wood stove can not transmit heat to the bedrooms from the living room. Especially when the hall door is shut to keep the dogs out.

I want to give John Koskinen some credit here. Remember that his advice was to prepare for the proverbial three day winter storm.

Pretty close to dead on!

Bill
