I have cut and pasted the relevant section of your post. This is the most bizarre news item I have come across for a while. Any comments from those in the know.

------------------------------

Global One has agreed a three year contract to supply Nortel Networks with its Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM). The system will be fitted to nine western European sites. These sites are manufacturing bases in the UK, Ireland, Germany and France. Roll-out is expected to take place during the second and third quarters of 1999, with an expansion plan taking place afterwards.

Nortel will use the ATM for high speed, broadband capabilities, such as business-critical software applications, corporate IP, and to integrate voice and data traffic.
