Jeff, you must be as happy as I am with this Rugrats extension. Man, having the property for another three or four years is an eternity in the video game business. Very sweet. (Speaking of long licenses, I think we're going to be very happy with the cross-promotional tie-ins with JAKK and Titan Sports for the WWF btw. WWF really gets the internet, for one.)
The fact that Rugrats N64 is more of a puzzle game makes me wonder if the market could support more than one title a year. It makes sense for THQ to put out just one wrestling game per platform per year but for some reason I think this sort of game could lead to multiple titles. Aren't there often series of cd-roms in the edutainment biz? Did Broderbund just have one Rugrats PC title, or were there more?
Of course the N64 games are pricey, so maybe that curtails things a bit.
We're getting a better picture of Rugrats sales but hopefully Farrell can really clarify things in the cc. And when does the PSX game ship to Europe?
TRSTS data is due within a week, maybe by Friday. What do we think? Thunder number one, Revenge top ten, Rugrats top twenty? It would be a new record for THQ. If Thunder was number one for the first two weeks, were there any hot releases in the last two weeks that could knock it off the top perch?
Marc
