Bob,

I have followed SWC for three years now and this happens almost every year. The past couple of years, October has presented a great buying opportunity in the stock. I bet Puddle Glum (another SI poster) back in the summer that SWC would have a crappy third quarter and the stock would get down to $19, in which case I would load up the truck. Well, the gold market spoiled that scenario, but that's abating and the company may still make $19 happen.

An investor has to look out long term and understand what they are sitting on - it's not a gold mine, it's better than that. PGM's are metals of the 21st century and SWC has a mother load of them. Sooner or later they will get everything on track and the steet will notice. Meanwhile the street, or at least less informed posters, think the company isn't making any progress, but if you read their press release, things are steadily improving. I have to trust that there is meat behind the qouted improved production statistics rather them being a PR gambit. History has shown the management to be fairly straight shooting, but I have to admit that I was rather taken aback by the firing of a couple of operations managers a while back. I guess I should just head out to Montana and take a look. Ya, sure you betcha!
