<<Say who the hell made the 'mounties' the 'chief'???>>
This Asxworthy, is a self-appointed, uninvited little guy, whose voice is a whisper in the thunderous entry of India into the nuclear age. Security Council, by definition should be able to provide security. What kind of security can Canada provide to any country in case of a nuclear war? Why would Canada want to be seated in Security Council unless it wants to be a stooge and sidekick for US. Canada is a great country, but has very little influence in this hard world.
Take the immigration policies of Canada. It is lop-sided. No further comments.
India does not need a seat in security Council. India should even say that they are not interested in a permanent seat in Security Council. There is no security in this world if India does not participate in the activities of Security Council. Lack of recognition does not diminish the status India earned by its own efforts and the reality of the situation. If the biggies can't face reality, it is sad state of affairs for themselves.
If India is accepted in the Security Council, Pakistan also should be given a seat. That I think is imperative.

Now that Pakistan has done the test, they should keep their nose clean. Helping another Islamic country or even thinking about it, may get the wrath of Israel and US and worse.
