The People, once they discovered the power of the taxing authority as the "Santa Clause" can not be trusted to check the Congress from going apeshit.

Yep. And both parties pander and take advantage of it. I think the ability of the rich to buy the politican's vote is what has kept them from cleaning out the rich.

The man who wrote that piece, A.J. Galambos, was someone I took courses from for three years in the early 70s and he really influenced my life. He gave political courses from about 1968 to 1980. Over 50,000 people have taken some of them. The Birch society hated him because every Bircher who took his initial course immediatly dropped out of the society.

He was the smartest man I ever knew, and the most difficult to deal with. His students became so taken with him that they became "followers." This fed his ego so much that he let himself get out of control. Most people could only stay around for three years. Too bad. His ideas were "right on," and he and Rand are the major sources of the libertarian movement, IMO, even though they both disliked it.

He died a death he must have hated. Went senile.
