It was well known that DELL was having to pay premium DRAM prices early in the quarter. So I suspect that was something to do with it. Intel may be giving first choice of Coppermines so maybe Mikey D. is candy coating it a little,. Actually, The Gateway Athlons fit very nice price points. They still feature the Pentium IIIs in the higher end computers. Again, it looks like Intel looked out for no. one and it's shareholders this quarter. A company very loyal to it's shareholders and its profit line. Probably another buying opportunity coming up... Jim
