Item #3 SENATE APPROVES BILL FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT TECHNOLOGY FUNDING

The U.S. Senate unanimously passed a bill sponsored by Sen. Mike DeWine (R-Ohio) that would establish a $1.25 billion five-year grant program to improve law
enforcement information technology at the state and local level. Funds could be used to link local computer systems with state systems as well as with other local
systems, and could include fingerprint computers as well as databases which handle criminal history records, DNA samples, and records of gun purchases.
