Visual Cafe is another master piece of acquisition by BEAS.

The only complaint that people have about WebLogic, so far, is that it lacks good development environment. Now that problem is solved, with the best IDE in the industry.

BEAS is making an art of acquiring outstanding products. First TUXEDO (best TPM), DEC ObjectBroker (ORB with most market share at that time), DEC Message Q (excellent queuing product), TopEnd (next major TPM), WebLogic (best Web App Server), Theory Center (great components) and now Visual Cafe (best IDE for Java).

I am very confident that this $450 mil also will be well spent. What will be their next acquisition target?

My guess is a good OODBM (Object Oriented DB) would be a great help. Storing Enterprise Java Beans / objects in their native form is a great addition to an Enterprise Transaction Framework. A company like Versant will be a great addition. They have excellent products, already integrated with WebLogic, best of all a market cap <$100mil.
There are few others as well .. but Versant is a good candidate.

If the market continues this way, we should see BEAS cross $100 in the next few months. I agree with Nancy's technical analysis .. but I don't think these are times for such analysis.

Go BEAS.
