I second your thought. We still wait and see what's the beef in the xbox by Gates today. Willy is the only hope INTC has to compete in the 32-bit market. And I don't think INTC wants to put Willy in the $300 console. Do they expect SONY will sit there in the next 18 months? What if SONY introduces PS III with compatible software but faster hardware in the next 18 months?

So I think the game is not over yet. I think you are on the money in that the release version of xbox will likely have a CPU around GHZ.
