Major buying Opportunity?? I am admittedly adding 1 and 1 to make 3 but here is where I am coming from.

Facts:
1. As of 45 days ago CSCO customers were complaining about slow deliveries. See
lightreading.com

2. Inventory builds can not happen when customers are waiting for delivery, except components
which await a delayed item in the package.

3. CSCO's "Russo says that to his knowledge the optical division is not a significant contributor to
this backlog." See the last sentence of lightreading.com

4. CSCO will soon have an OC-192 interface card. "OC-192 interface cards for the core GSR
platform in December, with general availability in January." From
lightreading.com

5. I am reading with interest a Light Reading article which describes CSCO's needs for ASIC
packages, how CSCO is seeking new ASIC suppliers with fast response time, and apparently has
only one supplier currently fitting their needs. From
lightreading.com
CSCO's needs almost read like the AMCC business plan.

The OC-192 interface card and the above seems to be playing directly into the ASIC and
OC-192 arenas where AMCC wishes do dominate.

I have a couple of questions.
1. Can anybody confirm that AMCC is an ASIC supplier to CSCO?
2. Can anybody confirm that the OC-192 portion of the CSCO interface card is an AMCC
OC-192? Or what other company claims to be selling OC-192's to CSCO?
3. Is there any risk CSCO is now making an OC-192 for itself?
4. And the last big question, Provided AMCC hardware is in CSCO's card, if CSCO wants to
move into optical hardware in their typical big way, would a purchase of AMCC make sense? Can
anybody list impediments to such a purchase?
