That's funny Mike, are you having a "flashback" or something. :)

My cousin was in the service during Vietnam, he spent his years on an Aircraft Carrier stationed in San Diego, he told me they used to travel down to Mexico about every 6 months and load the boat up with dope, and then sell and smoke it when they returned home.

I was too young to serve in Vietnam. I do remember all the dope smoking in the service when I joined though, I also remember all the drunks who couldn't wait to knock off work and hit the nearest bar and drink themselves to stupidity. I could tell you story after story of senior leaders falling down in ranks because they were still suffering from hang-overs. The services were a great place for alcoholics in the seventies and early eighties. They had allot of like minded friends.

It's a different armed forces today, mainly because it's voluntary and we have great leadership.

Don't try and screw it up with a draft because you've heard a few rumors about recruiting shortfalls. Have confidence the recruiters and their leaders will come up with creative solutions to any shortfalls.

I do.
