George Will ran a column on Bill Bratton, the Police Chief of LA, under the Headline, "True progress." I posted it here yesterday. The LA Times, which normally doesn't run his column, pick it up as a "Commentary" item, and headlined it, "LAPD's Bratton, a Man With a $300-Million Plan" This is what it would cost, long term, for all the cops that Bratton would love to have in his dreams, but knows he will never get. It is in the last paragraph of the article. I am trying to figure out why they did that. They have not been hostile to Bratton up to now. It is very strange to pick up an article and change the Headline to mislead like that.
