Vulcan Minerals-- Diamond and Oil play--
Because of some problems with URL errors I decided to post again.
1. First, a bad spell of wheather in Newfoundland--

2. Alberta Diamond Play
Vulcan own a 100% share in 2.2 million acres of diamond property staked on favourable areas in Alberta, a significant portion of it in the Buffalo Hills area, ... from their May 9, 1997 press release, Quote--
"Vulcan has staked 3 claim blocks in geologically favourable areas for kimberlite intrusives as follows:
Hay River Block - 205,000 acres (approx.) Peace River Block - 455,000 acres (approx.) Lac la Biche Block - 1,500,000 acres (approx.)"

John Kaiser has also taken note of Vulcan's properties in Provinces of Alberta, Ontario and Newfoundland and Labrador and in a recent Express included Vulcan as a "bottom fish" buy. I believe this particular mention of Vulcan was included in the November 1997 Kaiser Express.
3. West Coast Newfoundland
Press release, January 5, 1998 on private placement of 480K flow-through shares with an additional one planned in the near future to cover planned seismic activity which is to commence within the next month in relation to an oil discovery at 450 feet in West Coast Newfoundland. Furthermore, a second drill at the 4500 feet in the Ordovician level on this same property is planned for June 1998. I refer you to an excerpt in the September 1997, ...press release quote--
"The company located oil on the property at a depth of 150 metres in a stratigraphic test hole in Carboniferous aged strata in 1996. As well, regional geologic and seismic interpretation suggests that a deeper (approximately 1500 metres) Ordovician aged target also exists on the property. Hunt Oil's recent discovery in the area flowed high quality oil in significant quantities from Ordovician reservoirs."
It is noteworthy to underscore that this oil property is adjacent to the Pan Canadian/Hunt Oil consortium and I refer you to the Government of Newfoundland's Press Release on the Hunt/Pan Canadian major Oil Discovery in West Coast Newfoundland, just a short distance with the same "sweet crude".
